Retargeting pixels

Build advertising audiences from people who click your links, even to sites you do not own. Pro feature.

1 min read

Normally you can only retarget visitors to your own website, because that is the only place you can install a tracking pixel. Snipvio lets you fire your pixels on the way through a short link, including links to sites you have no control over.

Share an industry article with your audience, and you can build an ad audience from everyone who found it interesting.

Setup

  1. Go to Dashboard → Account and enter your pixel IDs:
    • Meta (Facebook) Pixel ID
    • Google Tag ID (AW- or G-)
    • TikTok Pixel ID
  2. Save
  3. Edit any link and enable Fire retargeting pixels

You can set one, two, or all three. Only the ones you fill in will fire.

What the visitor sees

A branded loading screen for roughly a third of a second while the pixels fire, then the redirect completes. It is quick enough that most people register it as a normal page load.

Bots and preview crawlers never see this screen, so your audiences stay clean and link previews are unaffected.

Good uses

  • Retarget everyone who clicked a piece of industry news you shared
  • Build an audience from a newsletter link before they ever reach your site
  • Measure which social channel produces the most engaged clicks

Be responsible

Firing tracking pixels carries legal obligations in many places, including the EU and UK under GDPR, and California under CCPA. Your privacy policy should disclose it. If you are unsure of your obligations, ask a lawyer rather than guessing.
