When someone taps a YouTube link inside Instagram, it usually opens in Instagram's in-app browser: no login, no subscriptions, no playback controls they recognise. Deep linking sends them to the real app instead.
Turning it on
Edit any link and enable Open in app (deep link). It applies only to visitors on mobile devices; desktop traffic redirects normally.
Supported apps
Snipvio recognises destinations for:
- YouTube (videos and channels)
- Spotify (tracks, albums, playlists, artists)
- Instagram (profiles, posts, reels)
- X / Twitter (profiles and posts)
- Amazon (product and search pages)
Links to anywhere else redirect normally, so leaving the toggle on is harmless.
How it behaves
A mobile visitor sees a brief branded screen while Snipvio attempts to open the native app. If the app is installed, it takes over. If it is not, the visitor lands on the normal web page about a second later.
Nobody gets stuck. The web fallback always fires.
When to use it
Deep linking helps most when the action you want requires being logged in: subscribing, following, saving, adding to a cart, or buying. Those all fail in an in-app browser and succeed in the app.
For a plain article or landing page, leave it off. The extra hop is not worth it.
